The New Street Play Area is situated next to the small car park just off Backfields Lane, WR8 0JJ. The enclosed play area is designed for the use of the under 12s. The Skate Park was installed in 2010 in memory of Kyle Salmon, a keen skateboarder and local resident who sadly died of leukaemia aged 13. The Skate Park was paid for by grant funding raised by Kyle’s family and friends.
The Tennis Courts have been transformed into a Multi-Use Games Area, thanks to a generous donation of £40,000 from the Upton Blues Festival. You can now play tennis, football, basket ball and netball.
The play area itself has also undergone a major refurbishment and has play equipment for all ages as well as plenty of seating for supervising parents, grandparents and carers. The play area is protected by CCTV.
